Southern York County Regional Police are investigating a reported stabbing
that occurred during a robbery attempt. A maintenance employee reported
that he was stabbed during a robbery attempt about 1:20 p.m. at the complex
located on Springwood Road in New Freedom. An unknown male entered the maintenance office and demanded money and the keys to a coin-operated washer and dryer on the property. The employee said he struggled with the suspect who then stabbed him in the lower leg and the chest area. The assailant then left the building and fled in an unknown direction. An ambulance transported the stabbing victim to a local hospital and the injuries did not appear to be life threatening. The suspect was described as a white male, age 35-45, longer hair in the back with a longer brown/gray beard with 'V' in bottom of beard, red and black flannel type jacket, blue jeans, and brown work boots. Anyone with information is asked to contact Southern Regional Police at 717-235-3944. UPDATE: Investigation revealed that the stabbing occurred as revenge from a previous incident at a bar and not robbery. The case is still under investigation. |
