Officers were dispatched to the Giant Foods for a retail theft. During the dispatch, officers were notified that the
subject fled on foot once confronted by the store manager about the theft. Prior to officers arriving in the area they
were notified that the subject was found in brushy area between the shopping center complex, Mt. Airy Rd. and
Interstate 83. The subject was taken into custody by store personnel until police arrival. The subject, identified as Ronald Hyser, had taken off a sweatshirt and hat while fleeing and left it with the stolen goods. Officers found the clothing and stolen goods after a search of the area where he fled. Hyser stole three boxes of Prilosec with a total value of $65.97. Hvser was charged with retail theft and transported to central booking. |
