Nature of Incident:	Armed Robbery

Incident Summary:
At 1335 Hrs. 03/23/07, Carter entered the Sovereign Bank with a handgun at his side. Once inside he immediately fired a shot into a wall above the teller area and announced a robbery. He then approached the teller area, pointed the handgun at the tellers and toward customers inside the bank and ordered the tellers to give him money. He then exited the bank and ran across the parking lot into a silver and red Dodge pick up truck which was driven by Moore. They then fled the area and entered interstate 83 traveling south. Officers from Southern York County Regional Police Department quickly arrived and upon obtaining information, had the York County Emergency Center issue a lookout to surrounding agencies and to Maryland Law Enforcement agencies. Investigation found that Moore had entered the bank at approximately 1323 Hrs. apparently conducting surveillance prior to the robbery. The truck was observed by Maryland State authorities and subsequently stopped on Cold Spring Rd. just off the Jones Falls Expressway by Baltimore City Police. The occupants were detained by Maryland State Police at which time they were identified as Carter and Moore. Warrants were obtained by the Southern York County Regional Police Department for Carter and Moore. Carter and Moore have both been charged with Robbery, Theft by unlawful taking or disposition, Receiving stolen property, Discharge of a firearm into an occupied structure, Simple Assault, Recklessly endangering another person and Criminal conspiracy to commit all charges. Carter and Moore are detained in Maryland pending extradition back to Pennsylvania. Agents from the Harrisburg Office of the FBI assisted with the investigation in Maryland. Federal charges may subsequently be filed against Carter and Moore. Charged: Cory Jamal Carter, 21 Yrs., 2900 Block on N.
