On May 19, 2009 at approx. 0326 hours officers were dispatched to a burglar alarm at the Choice Outlet. Upon arrival officers found the front glass door had been smashed out. While investigating officers noted that a vehicle kept circling the block. The vehicle had a driver and a rear passenger. The vehicle was stopped and questioned about their suspicious behavior. While questioning Clisham and the passenger officers noted that there were glass fragments on the floor board as well on their shoes. Also noted were packs of Camel cigarettes that matched the ones stolen during the burglary. When store employees arrived and played the surveillance video showed two individuals with bandanas over their face, smash out the window with hammer, jump the counter, and steal approx. 21 packs of Camel cigarettes. The subject then ran out of the store. The video showed that the seventeen year old in custody was wearing the exact same clothing that was worn in the video. Chunks of glass were also found inside the juveniles shoes. Clisham and the juvenile were placed under arrest for the burglary. During a subsequent interview they both identified a third subject involved who was on the video, another seventeen year old. The three boys were working at BSA Broad Creek Scout camp in Harford Co. MD when they had been drinking rum and decided on the plan to steal cigarettes. Clisham stated that they kept circling the are looking for the one seventeen year old who did not return to the car. This is when they were stopped by police. The total value for the cigarettes was 105.63. Clisham was charged with; Conspiracy to commit burglary, Conspiracy of theft by unlawful taking, Conspiracy of Receiving Stolen Property, and Conspiracy of Criminal Mischief. He was released on $5000 bail. The two seventeen year olds were charged with; Burglary, Conspiracy to Commit Burglary, Theft by unlawful taking, Conspiracy of theft by unlawful taking, Receiving Stolen Property, Conspiracy of Receiving Stolen Property, and Criminal Mischief. |
