Southern Regional Police charged Clarence Cole with Retail Theft and False Identification to Law Enforcement Authorities for an incident at Giant Foods in Shrewsbury Borough on 07/03/08.
Officers were dispatched to the Shrewsbury Giant for a suspicious male inside, who appeared to be the same subject who stole over $700.00 worth of merchandise on two previous times within the last two weeks. Officers arrived to find the subject fleeing across the parking lot from store employees. The subject was taken into custody and provided false identification to officers. Another subject was parked in the Chic-Fil-A parking lot in the get away car and fled the scene when approached by an officer. In doing so the subject almost struck an officer on a police motorcycle and two other moving cars in the parking lot. A pursuit was initiated and later terminated for safety reasons. Cole was charged with attempting to steal over $200.00 of razor blades and over the counter medications on 07/03/08, as well as false identification. He was later transported to central booking for arraignment, processing, and correct identification. York County Sheriffs Deputies processed Cole and the AF1S system determined his real identity. Cole was arraigned and bail was set at $10,000. Cole was also assigned a $10,000 bail on an outstanding warrant. Two additional charges are pending against Cole for the retail thefts that occurred at the Shrewsbury Giant last week. Police are still looking for the driver of the car. The vehicle was a black 4 door car and the driver was a black male with one of his wrists wrapped with a white medical bandage. Anyone with information is asked to contact Southern Regional Police at 717-235-3944. |
