For the past six years various police departments and community agencies have partnered with Safe Kids in grant sponsored initiatives to provide education, skills training and helmets to children ages four - thirteen.
The Southern Regional Police Department has a supply of bicycle helmets available to children ages four to thirteen thanks to Safe Kids York County. The helmets are free and parents are encouraged to bring their children to the police station for sizing – three sizes are available.
